Chandler Parsons' time to shine for USA Basketball begins now.

Team USA is holding a basketball mini camp in Las Vegas that begins on Monday. Daily practices run through Wednesday. It will be capped off with the 2013 USA Basketball Showcase on Thursday in which there will be an intra-squad game at the Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus.

Parsons was invited among 26 of the NBA's rising stars and two of the top prospects from the collegiate level to join this camp as the players get evaluated for possible national-team duty for the World Cup in Madrid in the summer of 2014 and also the Olympics in Rio in 2016.

When he stopped by Orlando recently during Rockets Summer League, Parsons talked to CSNHouston about his upcoming Vegas trip, saying, "It's awesome. Just to be a part of that and invited to that is huge, and I'm looking forward to that, just playing against the top young guys."

In his second NBA season out of the University of Florida, the Rockets small forward vastly improved his numbers across the board, averaging 15.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and improving his free-throw percentage by almost 18 percent.
