The Rockets had only eight players suit up, but they were still able to dominate the Nets from the beginning until the end, when the score was 92-76. Houston remains unbeaten in 2013 Summer League play and now will get ready for the Orlando Summer League Championship on Friday.
Houston dominated from the outset, taking a 17-2 lead and winning 25-6 after one quarter. In between, the Nets went over seven minutes between points. There was no looking back after that.
FROM THE FIELD
The Rockets were very balanced on Thursday. Not only did the team shoot 48.6 percent, but each individual player seriously hovered around that percentage as well. This was yet another game where the Rockets severely outshot their opponents from distance, as they went 9-23 for 39.1 percent.
AT THE LINE
Houston had a solid day at the stripe, shooting 15-20 (75 percent).
Robert Covington had a nice alley-oop dunk in the second quarter. Late in the second quarter, Terrence Jones threw down a nasty dunk while driving through the lane. Jordan Henriquez threw down a two-handed jam early in the fourth.
Houston now readies for the championship game on Friday. Oklahoma City is the only other team that is unbeaten like the Rockets, so get ready for a Summer League matchup of what took place in the first round of the playoffs, except obviously, with markedly different rosters.
