Now that the calendar has flipped to the 2013-14 season on the NBA calendar, the deals that you’ve heard about can become official. Included in that list is the Rockets trade with the Blazers involving forward Thomas Robinson.
Houston has officially sent Robinson to Portland in exchange for a the draft rights to a pair of selections and two more second round draft picks.
Robinson was the fifth-overall pick by the Sacramento Kings in last year's draft. He averaged 4.5 points and 4.1 rebounds in his brief stint with the Rockets.
In the deal, the Rockets acquired the draft rights to forward Kostas Papanikolaou and center Marko Todorovic.
Papanikolaou has played with Olympiacos Piraeus in the Greek League while his NBA rights have gone from the New York Knicks to Portland and now to the Rockets since he was drafted in 2012. He was twice voted the Euroleague Rising Star Trophy winner.
Todorovic was drafted in the 2013 draft by Portland in the second round and played with F.C. Barcelona last season.
