The Houston Rockets are slowly inching toward the preseason finish line with an extended road trip before the preseason finale on Friday in Houston.

The Rockets hit the halfway point of their eight-game preseason schedule with a big thud. Playing on the second night of a back-to-back, Houston was clobbered by the Pelicans, 117-98.

The Rockets had a very nice 3-0 start to the preseason, including strong execution down the stretch in their wins over Dallas and Phoenix.

Dwight Howard came to last year's George Ranch-Foster football matchup. So it made sense that he would come again this year.

The Rockets spent only about eight hours in Dallas for their preseason opener, a 111-108 win, but it was just enough time to see the the NBA debuts of three new Rockets players.
