Titans quarterback Jake Locker was carted off the field and taken to the hospital by ambulance Sunday after hurting his right hip early in the third quarter against the New York Jets.

Locker had just thrown an incomplete pass to Nate Washington when Muhammad Wilkerson hit the quarterback in the chest, and then Quinton Coples popped Locker in the side.

Locker grabbed at his right hip area as he went to the ground with 11:14 left in the third quarter. He was carted to the locker room with his right leg straight out. Locker was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Titans coach Mike Munchak said the team did not know the extent of the injury when he talked with reporters after a 38-13 victory over the Jets.

Jets wide receiver Stephen Hill suffered a head injury on New York's opening series, and was out for the game.

Seattle coach Pete Carroll said defensive end Michael Bennett was OK after being taken off the field on a stretcher after injuring his lower back on a hit on Houston quarterback Matt Schaub.

Bennett was taken to the hospital after the hit, but Carroll said he was back with the team after the game. He strained a muscle in his lower back.

Texans linebacker Brian Cushing left with a concussion in the third quarter. Cushing missed much of last season because of a knee injury.

New England defensive tackle Vince Wilfork left the game against the Falcons on the opening drive with an apparent right ankle injury.

Oakland lost both of its starting running backs to injuries in the first half against the Redskins. Darren McFadden left with a hamstring injury and fullback Marcel Reece was out with a knee injury.

Washington lost running back Alfred Morris in the second half to bruised ribs and nose tackle Chris Neild in the first half with a right calf injury.

The Ravens could be down yet another receiver after Deonte Thompson was being evaluated for a possible concussion in a loss to the Bills. Coach John Harbaugh said it was too early to determine the severity of the injury because Thompson was still being tested.

Thompson was hurt in the fourth quarter after making a 33-yard catch along the right sideline. As he made the catch, Thompson was hit by safety Jim Leonhard, who was penalized for hitting a defenseless receiver.

Receiver Marlon Brown and cornerback Lardarius Webb both did not return after hurting their thighs.

Lions cornerback Rashean Mathis left the game against the Bears because of a concussion and did not return. Mathis, who signed with Detroit before this season after 10 years with Jacksonville, went down in the first quarter.

Chargers linebacker Dwight Freeney hurt a quad in the second quarter and didn't come back.
