The Houston Dynamo have re-signed forward Cam Weaver. The 29-year-old Tacoma, Wash. native started twice in nine appearances in the 2012 regular season. He scored two goals and had two assists in the CONCACAF Champions League. The 6-foot-4 forward started all four CCL group stage games and led Dynamo field players with 354 minutes as Houston won its group to advance to the tournament quarterfinals.
Weaver led the Dynamo Reserves with 11 goals in nine games (including five goals in the final two games) as the club won the MLS Reserve League Central/Mountain division title with a 6-2-2 record. The five-year MLS veteran has scored 11 goals in 68 career appearances.
The Dynamo will open the 2013 MLS season when they host D.C. United on Saturday, March 2 in a rematch of the 2012 Eastern Conference Championship.
