The Houston Dynamo will open its regular season at home, hosting D.C. United on March 2 at BBVA Compass Stadium. It will be the first season opening game for the Dynamo BBVA Compass Stadium, which opened last year.
It will be the second straight year the Dynamo will face D.C. in its home opener, the Dynamo beat United 1-0 last year in the inaugural match at BBVA Compass Stadium.
Overall, the Dynamo are riding a 30 game unbeaten streak at their new stadium and have yet to lose a MLS game at BBVA Compass.
The Dynamo reached the MLS Cup Final for the second consecutive year in 2012 and beat D.C. United 4-2 in aggregate goals in the playoffs along the way. Since arriving in Houston seven seasons ago, the Dynamo have won two MLS cups and reached the finals two other times.
The Dynamo will play several preseason matches leading up to the regular season opener, starting with the Dynamo Academy at the Houston Amateur Sports Park on Jan. 24.
