In two games last week, University of Houston's TaShawn Thomas averaged 27.5 points and 13.0 rebounds per game and was named Conference USA's Player of the Week on Monday.

Thomas, a Killeen, Texas native, led the Cougers in scoring, rebounding, assists and blocks and tied for the team lead in steals last week. He recored his 10th and 11th double-double of the season last week.

In the home win against UTEP, he finished three assists shy of a triple-double.

This is the second time this season that Thomas has won the weekly award.
