One year after unveiling a massive facelift of Amon Carter Stadium, TCU unveiled plans for a major overhaul of its basketball facility, Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.

The renovation comes with an overall price tag of $45 million that will touch every part of the arena. If fundraising goes well, athletics director Chris Del Conte said he hopes to start construction about one year from now.

The announcement was made with a $10 million donation to start the fundraising.

The outside of Daniel-Meyer will undergo a facelift to match the exterior of Amon Carter Stadium, which sits adjacent to the arena.

Inside, concourses will be widened for the fans, while the floor will be lowered to allow for more courtside seats and what university officials hope will be a more intimate atmosphere for the games.

For the players, there will be expanded and renovated locker rooms for both the men’s and women’s teams.

There will also be new space created for offices for Olympic sports.
