Demolition of the 70-year old Robertson Stadium on the University of Houston campus began on Sunday and is expected to last six to eight weeks. UH's new state-of-the-art facility is set to open in August of 2014.

Fans can track the progress of the project online at UHCougars.com or in person at any time from the rooftop of the stadium parking garage.

A limited number of stadium seats will be available for purchase in an online auction on UHCougars.com starting on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 5 p.m. and will run through Friday, Dec. 14, at noon.

The standalone seats come from concourse seating areas throughout the stadium and will have a starting bid of $150 each.  Also, a set number of seatbacks will be available online starting at $100.

All funds raised through the online auction will benefit University of Houston student-athletes.
