Johnny Manziel has given the classroom the Heisman stiff arm this semester, choosing carpal tunnel over writers cramp.
Manziel told the San Antonio Express News Monday at the Davey O’Brien Awards that he is taking 12 hours this spring, all of which are online courses.
Manziel said he originally enrolled in an on campus English class this spring but the experience led him to go online exclusively in the spring.
“I went one day — it was a small class of 20 or 25 — and it kind of turned into more of a big deal than I thought,” Manziel told the Express News. “The (athletic department) did a good job of saying, 'Let us know if you need anything and we'll figure it all out,' but (by then) I had all online classes, so we didn't need that.”
Manziel is taking four sports management courses, which is his major.
There is no eligibility issue with Manziel taking the online courses as long as he followed the proper guidelines registering for the classes.
