Texas A&M freshman guard Courtney Walker has been named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week after helping the then No. 14 Aggies to road wins over LSU and then No. 12 South Carolina.
The Edmond, Oklahoma native was the second leading scorer for the Aggies in each of those wins. Walker had 16 points on 8-of-10 shooting while adding three steals, three rebounds and one assist against LSU.
In the win over South Carolina, Walker led the defensive charge that held South Carolina to a season low 28.1% shooting. She added 10 points, seven rebounds and one steal in that upset.
Texas A&M returns to action Thursday night when the Aggies host Florida at 8:00 p.m.
