The Texans made some minor roster moves on Tuesday.

The team signed rookie tight end Chris Coyle (6-4, 243). Coyle, from Arizona State, was with the Texans for OTAs but was cut during the mandatory minicamp on June 18.

The Texans also waived second-year fullback Brad Smelley and rookie defensive lineman Tim Jackson. Jackson was waived with a Failure to Disclose Physical Condition designation.

With the moves on Tuesday, the Texans' 90-man roster stands at 88. While the team previously said it would add cancer-stricken offensive lineman David Quessenberry to the Non-football Illness list, they haven't done it yet, so he remains on the active roster.

The three players -- Brian Cushing, Trevardo Williams and Louis Nix III -- who were added to the Active/PUP list on Monday still count toward the roster. Brennan Williams, who was released on Monday, cleared waivers and is a now a free agent.
