As the Texans prepare for their first preseason game (at Arizona on Saturday night) the team has released its first unofficial depth chart.

Here are some notable things:

  • Jadeveon Clowney is the starter ahead of Whitney Mercilus at the JACK.

  • With Brandon Brooks on the NFI, Alex Kupper and Ben Jones are the starting guards with second-round pick Xavier Su'a-Filo listed as a backup.

  • With Brian Cushing still on PUP, Justin Tuggle and Jeff Tarpinian are the inside linebackers with Mike Mohamed and Max Bullough backing up.

  • Rookie Jay Prosch is listed as the starting fullback.

  • C.J. Fiedorowicz is still listed as the third-teamer even though it seems like he is passing Ryan Griffin.

  • Somehow Alfred Blue is behind Dennis Johnson at running back. Arian Foster and Andre Brown are listed as 1-2.

  • Jared Crick is the starter opposite J.J. Watt.

  • Kendrick Lewis is ahead of Chris Clemons at free safety.

  • Mike Thomas is ahead of Keshawn Martin at kick and punt returner.
