Texans react to Suh's fine for groin kick
Ndamukong Suh was fined $30,000 for his groin kick on Matt Schaub on Thanksgiving. The news broke on Wednesday and, of course, the Texans were asked what they thought about the fine.
Matt Schaub didn’t offer much.
“I didn’t even know it happened, don’t really care,” he said. “We’re on to Tennessee.”
Should Suh have been suspended?
“It doesn’t matter to me. It’s not my decision. I’m on to the Titans.”
What did you mean when you said Suh wasn’t the type to play for the Texans?
“I’m on to Tennessee.”
While Schaub wouldn’t talk about the fine handed to Suh, several other Texans were a bit more loose-lipped when asked about the fine on Wednesday.
“I’m kinda stuck [between] a rock and a hard place on that because I am a Texan and it was my quarterback,” defensive lineman Antonio Smith said, “but I see a whole heckuva lot of worse things that offensive linemen do and don’t get fined nothing but like five grand.”
Wide receiver Andre Johnson said he hasn’t really seen the kick aside from a quick glance on film and didn’t know how intentional
“I could tell something was wrong with him by the way he was moving and the way he was talking,” Johnson said. “I was concerned. I was like, ‘Are you OK?’ He was just like, ‘Man I got kicked in between my legs.’ I know that’s not a good thing to get kicked there. He managed to stay in the game and keep playing.”
