Texans' third-round draft pick Sam Montgomery, who was cut on Oct. 21 for violating team rules in Kansas City, has found a new home.

According to his representatives, Pro Source Sports, Montgomery has signed with the Oakland Raiders.

Montgomery was cut in October along with undrafted rookies Cierre Wood and Willie Jefferson. Wood is on the Patriots practice squad.

The Texans used their second third-round pick on Montgomery and it didn't work from the beginning. Montgomery hurt his back during rookie camp, then he showed up to training camp out of shape. To top it off, he never seemed to fit the team's 3-4 system as an outside linebacker and switched positions during the season. He never saw the field as a Texan once the season started.
