Mike Munchak won't be coming back to Houston.
Munchak is going to Pittsburgh to coach the Steelers' offensive line.
Munchak, 53, who was fired as the head coach of the Titans after the 2013 season, interviewed with the Texans and the Steelers. Ultimately, the Scranton, Penn. native decided to go back to Pennsylvania.
This means the Texans will go to Plan B, which could be Iowa's offensive line coach Brian Ferentz. In early January, NFL.com's Gil Brandt reported the Texans would hire Ferentz.
Munchak spent his entire Hall-of-Fame career as an offensive lineman with the Houston Oilers.
The Houston Chronicle and Fox26 first reported that Munchak was heading to Pittsburgh.
He was the head coach of the Titans for three seasons and led them to a 22-26 record. Before becoming a head coach, Munchak was a longtime offensive line coach and is considered to be one of the best in football.
