By the start of next season, there will be two notable additions to Reliant Stadium. And they’re gonna be really hard to miss.

On each end of the stadium will be a brand new video board, each weighing more than 100 tons, each bigger than the board in Cowboys Stadium. The new boards will be the largest in sports.

“Our game experience is consistently rated as one of the finest in the world and these spectacular video boards will help us elevate to an even higher level of performance for our fans,” Texans president Jamey Rootes said in a released statement.

The Texans are only team to not have digital scoreboards. By bringing in these two new boards, it should greatly increase the city’s chances of hosting the Super bowl in 2017.

To put it in perspective, the display will be 25 percent larger than the one in Dallas. These screens will be equal to roughly 3,050 40-inch LCD displays.

The Texans are following the Rockets’ lead on this one. The Rockets have the largest screen in the NBA. And the University of Texas has the largest in NCAA football.
