Shooting the Bull: Palmer, Zangaro, McClain talk Schaub

While joining Yahoo! Sports Radio's Sean Pendergast and John Granato on Monday, Danieal Manning revealed that the Texans held a players-only meeting on Monday, the day after their 23-20 overtime loss.

According to Manning, Antonio Smith, Ed Reed, Andre Johnson and Matt Schaub were among those to speak during the meeting, which was closed to coaches.

"I think it was the perfect time for us to have that," said Manning, whose Texans are 2-2 heading into next week's game against San Francisco.

According to the Houston Chronicle's John McClain, running back Arian Foster is the player who called the meeting.

Schaub has been taking the bulk of the criticism locally after throwing his third pick-6 in as many games.

"I just want to clear that up," Manning said. "Matt, we're riding behind him 100 percent."

Manning said he sees the leaders of the team taking over the locker room in a positive way.

"Matt has been a man about it this whole time," Manning said. "He told us how he felt and what's going to be changed and what needs to change as well as on the defensive side, players stepping up. I think ... I believe that at this point today, we really had a change in the way that we're going to approach the next game."

Manning also said this Texans team is better than his Bears team that went to the Super Bowl.
