Kubiak: 'We got good news' on Ed Reed
Ed Reed is still not back to practice but according to head coach Gary Kubiak, the team got some good news on Saturday.
"My understanding, got some good news yesterday," Kubiak said. "We think he’s ahead and has responded very well."
Reed has been working with a hip specialist in Atlanta. He's worked with this specialist before.
We were going to do that again this week for a few days. So we’re just exhausting everything we possibly can do to get him ready to go and push toward the beginning of the season. He was with us here last night for the game last night and we did meet with the people he’s been working with. There has been a lot of progress, lot of good progress.”
There's still no word as to whether or not Reed will be ready for the season opener on Sept. 9 in San Diego. He is still on the Active/PUP list.
The Texans have some concerns with depth at the safety position after Saturday's game also. Already without Reed, Shiloh Keo suffered a quad contusion and is day-to-day and Eddie Pleasant has a knee sprain.
