Texans lose a huge game to the Colts

The Texans had a chance to take care of business on their own but they couldn’t, losing 28-16 to the Colts in the regular season finale.

So they needed help.

They didn’t get it.

The Broncos easily handled the Chiefs 38-3 and clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC. The Patriots beat the Dolphins 28-0 and wrapped up the No. 2 seed. Both of those wins dropped the Texans all the way from the first seed to third in the AFC playoff picture.

The Texans are playing football next weekend. They’ll host the sixth-seeded Bengals (10-6) next Saturday at 3:30 p.m. CT at Reliant Stadium. The Ravens will host the Colts in the other AFC wild card game.

After starting their season with a 3-5 record, the Bengals have gone 7-1 to finish the season and have won their last three games. Their only loss since early November came by one point to the Dallas Cowboys.

After starting the season with an 11-1 record, the Texans have dropped three of four heading into the postseason.

This will be the second straight season the Texans will host the Bengals in the wild card round. Last season, the Texans beat the Bengals in the wild card game 31-10.
