Matt Schaub is still a Texan but if he's cut by Houston, he might end up in Cleveland.

And according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, there's a "serious possibility" the Browns will sign Schaub to compete with Brian Hoyer for the quarterback job in Cleveland.

Schaub has played under Browns new offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, who was in Houston from 2007-09.

In 2009, under Shanahan, Schaub threw for 4,770 yards and 29 touchdowns.

Schaub is 32 and has a cap number of $14.5 million in 2014. He's a likely candidate to be cut because of that cap number and because of his struggles in 2013. But on Sunday, Andre Johnson said he got the feeling from Schaub that Schaub felt like he would be back in Houston.

Schaub lost his starting job in 2013 as the Texans went 2-14 to earn the worst record in the league and the top draft pick. And they might use that top draft pick on a quarterback, which would certainly make Schaub more expendable.
