According to a report, Ed Reed had surgery last week.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle tweeted that Reed had surgery to repair a "small labral tear in his hip." Even after the surgery, Reed is expected to be ready for training camp.

The Texans begin their offseason OTAs in late May. No word if Reed will be joining any of those. There is a mandatory minicamp in early June too.

Reed was the big free agent acquisition for the Texans this offseason. He fills the spot left by Glover Quin and brings with him an impressive resume.

Reed is a nine-time Pro Bowler and and eight time All-Pro.
