Come to London to watch a terrible football game! Here’s how to make it work for an entire season as the NFL no doubt will attempt at some point: Wembley survivor.

The team with the worst record in the AFC the previous season plays the worst team in the NFC the previous season on opening weekend – make that the Saturday night game after the Thursday night opener. The loser has to stay in London.

This season it just so happens would have been the Andy Reid grudge match between the Eagles and the Chiefs just a few weeks earlier: revenge, betrayal, the loser left stranded on a foreign island! What’s not to like?

So based on last week’s result, the Eagles lose, play their home games in Wembley until they win (over owner Jeffery Lurie’s dead body this would happen – I’m well aware) and play their away schedule as scripted. I like to think of it as relegation but Americanizing it to the extreme.

The Eagles host the Giants at Wembley the next week and upset Eli and company? Big Blue, make yourself right at home in Piccadilly Circus.

The Vikings, the Bucs, the Jags, the Chargers, the Raiders – would all be likely to have a multi-week stays across the pond but the stakes are so much higher for the winning teams that travel to face them to avoid a dud – or rest their starters- late in the season.

Picks in bold:

Steelers -3 vs. Vikings in London

Seahawks – 3 at Texans

Bills +3.5 vs. Ravens

Bengals -4 at Browns

Colts -9 at Jaguars

Cardinals +2.5 vs. Bucs

Lions -2.5 vs. Bears

Chiefs -5 vs. Giants

Jets vs. Titans – under 41

Cowboys -2 at Chargers

Raiders +3.5 vs. Redskins

Broncos -11 vs. Eagles

Falcons -2.5 vs. Patriots

Saints -7 vs. Dolphins

Last Week: 9-6-1 Season: 20-24-2
