It was just another day at Reliant Stadium on Sunday; the Texans lost and Andre Johnson reached a new career milestone.

This time the Texans lost 34-31 to the Patriots and Johnson caught the 900th pass in his career.

He became the second fastest to reach 900 catches. Johnson did it in his 150th game; Marvin Harrison did it in 149.

“It’s big,” Johnson said. “You play this game and have a childhood dream of just making it to the NFL. I never came into the NFL saying that I wanted to have 900 catches. I just said that I wanted to be a good football player. It’s humbling. It just shows that the work you put into the game is paying off.”

Johnson became the 15th player in NFL history to catch 900 passes. But doing it as quickly as he has is impressive. Johnson said he considers Jerry Rice to be the best receiver ever, so getting to 900 receptions before him “is a tremendous honor.” Rice took 168 games.

“That is unbelievable, man,” rookie DeAndre Hopkins said about Johnson’s new milestone. “You don’t have words for that. He comes out and makes plays, week in and week out.”
