Where does Schaub rank among NFL QBs?
Matt Schaub is the ninth-ranked quarterback in the NFL, according to ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski.
Schaub ranked just above Andrew Luck (10), Colin Kaepernick (11), Russell Wilson (12), Robert Griffin III (13), Jay Cutler (14) and Tony Romo (15).
“Schaub’s 110 quarterback rating off play action was among the league’s best,” Jaworski said, via the Houston Chronicle. “(Schaub) has produced consistent success over a long period of time. There may be no better play-action team in the NFL than Houston.”
The eight quarterbacks yet to be ranked are Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Eli Manning, Matt Ryan, Ben Roethlisberger and Joe Flacco. They will be named over the next week-plus on ESPN.
Jaworski is a longtime analyst and had a 15-year career as a quarterback in the NFL. Jaworski ranked Schaub just above a quartet of young successful NFL quarterbacks who don't have the level of sustained success Schaub has.
Schaub led the Texans to a 12-4 record and their second straight AFC title in 2012. He threw for 4,008 yards, 22 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Schaub's passer rating of 90.7 was ninth in the NFL in 2012. He was a Pro Bowler for the second time last year.
