Andre Johnson never had a doubt

The Texans trailed by 21 points in the third quarter before scoring 24 straight to beat the Chargers on Monday night 31-28.

Here are some more stats from the game:

The Texans have now won four straight openers. They improved to 7-5 on opening day and 2-2 on the road on Kickoff Weekend.

The Texans are 3-4 in Monday Night Football games and 6-10 in prime-time games.

It Was the franchise's first ever win over San Diego and improved their all-time record against San Diego to 1-4 overall and 1-2 at Qualcomm Stadium.

The Texans came back to win after trailing by 21 points. It was the largest comeback victory in team history. The previous record was 18 points vs. Tennessee on Nov. 28, 2004.

Matt Schaub completed 34-of-45 passes for 346 yards and three touchdowns. It's his 26th 300-yard game and his 12th three-touchdown game.

Schaub also led the Texans to the win. It was his 13th game-winning drive since joining the Texans. Eight quarterbacks have more.

The last time a quarterback had at least 346 yards passing, with three touchdowns and a completion percentage of at least 75 percent was last Nov. 18. The guy who did it? Schaub. Against the Jaguars. It was the only such game in 2012.

The Texans outgained the Chargers 449-263 and held San Diego to nine net yards in the fourth quarter.

DeAndre Hopkins, the team's first-round pick, got off to a slow start but ended up with a solid game. He had five catches for 66 yards. It's crazy early but that has him on pace for 80 catches for 1,056 yards.

Andre Johnson has now caught a pass in 102 straight games. He caught 12 balls for 146 yards. Speaking of crazy early projections, Johnson is on pace for 192 catches and 2,336 yards. He passed Keenan McCardell (11,373) and Rod Smith (11,389) into 25th place on the NFL's all-time receiving list with 11,400.

Johnson became the 14th player over 32 years old to catch at least 12 passes for 146 yards.

Owen Daniels had two receiving touchdowns. It's his fourth two-touchdown reception game. Since he entered the league, he's second on the Texans behind Andre Johnson's six. Johnson has eight in his career.
