Kubiak on Johnson: 'He did come out OK'
Andre Johnson, who left Sunday’s game early with a shin bruise, is day-to-day, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.
All of Johnson’s X-rays came back negative. He caught five passes for 36 yards before leaving the game for good.
Left tackle Duane Brown, who didn’t even make the trip because of turf toe, worked with trainers on the practice fields on Monday. Kubiak said Brown is also day-to-day. In Brown’s place, veteran swing tackle Ryan Harris started.
Ed Reed made his first start and first appearance of the 2013 season on Sunday. He played 46 snaps and Kubiak said Reed came out of the game without soreness, which was a good sign. Reed, 35, will continue to be the team’s starter.
“He moved around good," Kubiak said. "Like I said, for him, that’s his first time back since when? Last year, the Super Bowl. I think just the fact he was able to play some and he came out of the game feeling good. There was a turf issue. Talk about him playing on turf. We came out OK, worked out the team today so I think we’re heading in the right direction.”
