With Texas A&M just over an hour away from Houston and a large Aggie fan base in the city, it’s no surprise Johnny Manziel is a popular choice among locals for the Texans to take with their No. 1 pick in this year’s NFL Draft in April.
One of those locals is Tony Buzbee, who is high-profile attorney in Houston and is on the Texas A&M Board of Regents. He bought signage on a local billboard that reads “Keep Johnny Football in Texas” and directs people to a website called DraftJohnnyManziel.com that includes a petition to try to convince Texans owner Bob McNair to draft Manziel. As of mid-afternoon on Monday, the petition had nearly 1,200 signatures with a goal of 5,000.
