D.J. Swearinger ended the Dustin Keller's season on Saturday night with a low hit to Keller's knee. Swearinger said he went low because he was trying to avoid going high and getting a fine.

But Dolphins receiver Brian Hartline isn't buying that explanation.

“It’s crap,” Hartline told WQAM. ”I mean I think that, me personally, if you’re telling me, ‘Oh, I’m so worried about going high or hurt the head,’ you consciously went low then, is what you’re trying to tell me.”

Swearinger, the rookie from South Carolina, said he is sorry that it happened but that it was a football play.

"I'm not a defensive player, so I don't sit here and assume right off the bat," Hartline continued. "But what I do know is that I have a lot of good pros on my team and what they have said to me is that there is no place for that in the NFL. … To get that low, that’s a pretty ... I wouldn’t say intentional, but it’s definitely not needed in the game of today.”
