Arian Foster did not practice on Wednesday. Ben Tate did.

And both will be “end-of-the-week” decisions, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

Tate is dealing with four cracked ribs, while Foster has a hamstring injury.

“He practiced,” Kubiak said of Ben Tate. “Kind of like a trial run going through the week, seeing how he’s going to feel. But he took his normal reps with what we did today.”

Foster stretched, did the walkthrough but then worked with trainers instead of working with the team.

“I think Arian’s gonna do everything he can to be there,” Kubiak said. “I think he’ll be an end-of-the-week decision.”

Kubiak said there will be three running backs dressed on Sunday. The Texans signed three running backs on Monday: Deji Karim, Dennis Johnson and Ray Graham. All three were with the team during training camp. Kubiak mentioned Karim's experience, that Johnson is in good shape after being in Cleveland and said Graham (who was on the practice squad) has been practicing well.

Left guard Wade Smith (knee) missed practice. Kubiak said Smith will practice only two days per week, if he likes it or not. Darryl Sharpton (toe) also missed practice. He has been able to play without practicing this year.
