Texans running back Arian Foster missed practice for the second straight day on Thursday.

Interim head coach Wade Phillips said Foster was seeing doctors about his back again but didn't have any further update.

Foster also sat out on Wednesday. He left last Sunday’s game after one series because of his back injury. He had a hamstring injury leading into the game against the Colts.

This season, Foster has 121 carries for 542 yards and just one touchdown. He's on pace for his lowest yard total since 2009.

Ben Tate, his backup, will play again on Sunday but will do so with four cracked ribs. He was able to play through the pain against the Colts. He's been limited this week but plans to play on Sunday again. Dennis Johnson, Deji Karim and Ray Graham are the other running backs on the roster. Johnson carried the ball eight times in his NFL debut on Sunday. Karim is probably the next running back up after Johnson, according to Phillips.

Mike Mohamed (hamstring) and Tavares Gooden (personal reasons) also missed practice.
