The Texans’ starting cornerback duo of Kareem Jackson (sick) and Johnathan Joseph (toe) missed practice for the second straight day on Thursday but are expected to be back on Friday, head coach Gary Kubiak said.

Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips said he is obviously a little concerned when players miss practice but expects both to be back on Friday too. If Jackson and Joseph aren't able to play, it’s likely that Brice McCain and Brandon Harris would start. Rookie A.J. Bouye is the only other corner on the roster.

All Pro left tackle Duane Brown, who missed the Ravens game because of turf toe, did individual drills and worked some with the team on Thursday for the first time this week. If Brown is able to play on Sunday, he would be a full-time player.

“If he can play at his level,” Kubiak said. “I’m not gonna put Duane in a real bad position. We gotta see him able to do the things he’s capable of doing. If he plays, he would go the full time. Not like he’d play and we’d pull him out every 20 plays. So we’ll see where he’s at tomorrow.”

Andre Johnson (shin) did individual work on Thursday. He and Brown remain game-time decisions.

Darryl Sharpton (foot) and Tim Dobbins (hamstring) missed practice on Thursday. Owen Daniels and Wade Smith, who Kubiak said had rest days on Wednesday, were back at practice Thursday.
