LT Brown has bone spur removed from ankle
The Texans were on the field early Wednesday morning for OTAs practice but Duane Brown wasn’t.
Head coach Gary Kubiak revealed that Brown, an All-Pro last season, was having a minor surgery to shave a bone spur in his ankle.
“Duane has a bone spur that’s been bothering him somewhere on his ankle area,” Kubiak said. “And (we) made a decision yesterday to go ahead and shave it, so he’s having that done this morning. It’s a minor procedure. He’s fine. We just wanna make sure it’s something that’s not a problem when we go to camp.”
The bone spur has been bothering Brown for a couple of days. He didn’t practice on Tuesday but neither did many other veterans.
“He doesn’t need to go through a whole year of worrying about that, so that’s why we did it,” Kubiak said.
Brown is expected to be “fine” in a couple of weeks.
