Cornerback Alan Ball, who has missed considerable time with a foot injury, is active for the Texans' playoff game against the Bengals on Saturday.

Ball hasn't played since Thanksgiving but the team has planned to work him back for this week. With Brice McCain out until at least the Super Bowl, Brandon Harris has taken over the nickel corner responsibilities but Ball has played there before.

“He could become very much involved or it could just be special teams," head coach Gary Kubiak said earlier this week of Ball's potential involvement. "We’ll see how he holds up the rest of the week.”

Linebacker Mister Alexander, who the Texans re-signed earlier this week after Darryl Sharpton was went to the Injured Reserve is also active.

As expected, Brooks Reed is active and will start. Reed has a groin injury but told CSNHouston this week that he felt even better than when he returned a few weeks ago. Barrett Ruud will also make his first playoff start in five years.

The Texans' other inactive are as follows: OL Cody White, CB Roc Carmichael, CB Stanford Routt, OL Antoine Caldwell, OL Andrew Gardner, DT Terrell McClain and FB Tyler Clutts.

The Bengals' are: WR Dane Sanzenbacher, CB Jason Allen, S Chris Crocker, HB Daniel Herron, DT Devon Still, DT Brandon Thompson, TE Richard Quinn.
