Linebacker Elandon Roberts was granted a waiver by the NCAA, allowing the sophomore transfer from Morgan State to play immediately for the University of Houston.

Roberts, who played high school football at Port Arthur Memorial, spent his freshman season at Morgan State in Baltimore, Maryland, where he recorded 107 tackles and was a top candidate for the Jerry Rice Award, given to the top freshman in FCS.

He also had nine tackles for loss to go with a pair of sacks and an interception.

Roberts won’t lose any eligibility and will play for UH in the 2013 season as a sophomore.
