It’s not the Astros, but after four months of sitting idle, Minute Maid Park is alive again with the sights and sounds of baseball action.

The Astros are hosting the Astros in Action Division II Invitational this weekend, 15 games played from Friday through Monday with games starting at 10:00 every day.

Eight schools are participating, four of them from Texas. Abilene Christian, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Incarnate Word and Tarleton State represent the Lone Star State.

Astros owner Jim Crane’s alma mater, Central Missouri, headlines the out of state participants. Arkansas-Monticello, Emporia State and Arkansas Tech round out the field.

Central Misssouri is the only team that was ranked in the preseason Division II poll. The Mules are fourth in the poll.
