Justin Maxwell, who fractured his left hand on Tuesday, is estimated to return in four to six weeks.

Meanwhile, left-handed pitcher Rudy Owens, who is on the 40-man roster but with Oklahoma City in Triple A, has a stress fracture in his foot that will need surgery. He'll be out for four to five months.

Maxwell, 29, was the starting centerfielder for the Astros. He fractured the fifth metacarpal in his left hand but won't need surgery; he has it in a splint.

Aside from being just the starter, Maxwell had played every inning before his injury in the fourth on Tuesday. He was hit by a Hisashi Iwakuma pitch. Maxwell was batting .234 with one homer and six RBIs this season.

Owens, 25, will have surgery for a stress fracture in his left foot in Houston on Monday. After the surgery, he'll be in a walking boot for around six weeks but won't return to action for four to five months.

In four appearances with Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, he had a 3.71 ERA in 17 innings.
