Justin Maxwell was excited about the team’s 4-3 comeback win over the Cardinals on Wednesday.
The Astros outfielder was also pleased that he could be back in the Houston lineup on Friday, when the Astros begin a three-game home series against the Angels. Maxwell sat out Wednesday’s game after suffering a mild concussion on Tuesday attempting to catch a fly ball in right field. He saw a specialist prior to Wednesday’s game and it seems everything is in order.
“I guess I passed with flying colors. I’m excited,” said Maxwell. “I had positive results from the tests. All the tests are tedious.
“I’ll be back at the ballpark tomorrow morning to run around a little. And if everything goes well, hopefully I’ll be in the lineup on Friday.”
The Astros have an off day on Thursday. Maxwell said he still has a little headache but feels the headache could be gone by Thursday.
“Maxwell passed all the tests,” said Astros manager Bo Porter. “He’ll work out on Thursday and make sure there are no ill effects. He should be ready to go for Friday.”
