Justin Maxwell has been activated off the DL and will be in the Astros' lineup on Tuesday against the Brewers.

Maxwell hasn't been with the Astros since breaking his hand when he was hit by a pitch on April 23. He began his rehab assignment on June 4.

In 20 games with the Astros this season, Maxwell batted .234 with one homer and six RBIs.

Manager Bo Porter didn't say if Maxwell will play in center, which was his position before the injury. In Maxwell's absence, Brandon Barnes has taken over as the everyday centerfielder.

To make room for Maxwell, the Astros have also optioned outfielder Jimmy Paredes to Triple-A Oklahoma City. In 31 games with the Astros, Paredes batted .190 with 31 strikeouts and one home run.
