Well, we're into the dog days of the winter in terms of baseball news.

So this.

With the latest class of inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced, Craig Calcaterra from HardballTalk gives each artist/band their MLB analog.

And Donna Summer's is Jeff Bagwell. Calcaterra explains:

"An unfairly- judged representative of an era which everyone now says they hated but we all loved at the time and don’t you pretend we didn’t. So, of course, she’s Jeff Bagwell."

Now, we'll look at their stats a little closer. Because.

Bagwell: Career .297 hitter with 449 home runs, 1,500-plus runs and RBIs. Four-time All-Star. He was the Rookie of the Year in 1991 and the NL MVP in 1994. He's not in the MLB Hall of Fame after two years of eligibility.

Summer: Five Grammy Awards. Released hit singles Hot Stuff, Bad Girls, MacArthur Park and She Works Hard for the Money. Her 17 albums have sold more than 130 million copies since 1974.

So, the late Summer is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Bagwell isn't in the MLB Hall yet. He might never be. He fell short in his second try last season but did make a jump from 41.7 percent to 56 percent. Candidates need to receive 75 percent to be enshrined.
