The Corpus Christi Hooks’ season is over after a playoff loss to the Missions on Sunday at Whataburger Field.

The Astros’ Double A affiliate lost 5-3 to San Antonio in Game 5 of the Texas League Division Series. The Missions won the series three games to two and will now host Arkansas in the best-of-five championship series beginning on Tuesday.

San Antonio jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after scoring three in the first inning. Hooks starter LHP David Rollins only lasted three innings after allowing four runs (one earned) off five hits while striking out two. He also committed a throwing error in the first. It was one of three errors committed by the team.

Offensively, right fielder Domingo Santana went 3-for-4 and designated hitter Matt Duffy went 2-for-3. Shortstop Ronny Torreyes had a two-run single in the fifth inning while first baseman Erik Castro added an RBI single in the eighth.

The Hooks were one of six minor league playoff clubs for the Astros this year, a franchise record. The Astros were the first organization to have six domestic affiliates qualify for the playoffs in the same season since Pittsburgh in 2003. Houston's Triple A affiliate, the Oklahoma City RedHawks, was eliminated from the playoffs on Friday.
