Offense was the name of the game in the first ever Astros Futures Game held at Minute Maid Park.
The Astros' Double-A affiliate Corpus Christi Hooks were edged 15-14 by the Padres' Double-A team, the San Antonio Missions.
Numerous Astros prospects excelled on Tuesdasy. Preston Tucker hit two home runs to extend his league-leading total to 17. He also now leads the Texas League with 43 RBI. Meanwhile, Rene Garcia and Astros 2009 first-rounder Jiovanni Mier each had three hits.
For the game itself, Corpus Christi had a 13-12 lead until the Missions scored three in the top of the ninth. The Hooks scored a run in the bottom half on a Garcia RBI single to cut it to a one-run game, but that's where the rally would end.
