Josh Fields was going to finish the game in the ninth. Instead, he had to leave the game with an injury.
After getting an out to end the eighth, the righthander came on to warm up for the ninth, but he was forced to exit with a muscle strain in his right forearm. The severity of the injury was unknown right after Saturday's game.
"(You're concerned) anytime a guy comes out of the game with an arm injury," Bo Porter said. "It's too early to tell, right here, right now. I haven't had a chance to talk with the doctor, but it's definitely something that we are concerned about. He's been throwing the ball great. But if you have to go out to the mound and he tells the trainer that he feels discomfort in his forearm, that is reason to be concerned."
Ever since the Astros called him back up to the team from Triple-A on May 14, Fields has given up only two earned runs in 14.2 innings over 14 appearances (1.23 ERA), In that time, he has 22 strikeouts to only three walks.
