It's still the dog days of summer for the Astros at Minute Maid Park.
For Sunday's rubber game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at 1:10 p.m., fans are invited to bring their favorite furry friend to the ballpark for the Astros' annual Dog Day celebration, presented by Purina and H-E-B.
Fans and their pets can enjoy a pregame festival on The Plaza on Crawford Street, featuring a PetTalk Costume Contest, the Purina Dock Dog Diving Team and Sit Means Sit training demonstrations. There will also be a pooch parade around the warning track, a vendor expo in Home Run Alley and more. Vaccination records must be presented at registration.
Also prior to the game, several Astros players will greet fans as they enter Minute Maid Park. They will be stationed at each of the main gates between 12:15 and 12:40 p.m.
Following the game, don't forget about the very first Dancing with the 'Stros charity event hosted by the Astros Foundation at the House of Blues.
