The Astros will try to even the series at Oakland in Sunday’s finale of a four-game series. Rookie right-hander Paul Clemens was supposed to start but was scratched because of a blister. In his place, Lucas Harrell will make his first start since Aug. 19. Sunday’s game is the 17th of a stretch of 20 games in 20 days for the Astros, who are 6-10 in the stretch. Astros second baseman Jose Altuve has been on a hitting spree since being moved up to the 2-hole in the batting order. Altuve is 14-for-31 (.452) in seven September games, leading the majors in hits this month.

The A’s have won two straight, seven of their last nine and 10 of their last 13 games and are a season-high 22 games over .500. In their last 29 games, the A’s have hit 43 home runs, the most in the majors in that span. Sunday’s starter Bartolo Colon has pitched five innings or fewer in each of his last four starts.
