Houston has unveiled its schedule for 2014, and the Yankees will be the first part of a seven-game homestand to open the season.

The Astros will close their 2013 season with a three-game series with the New York Yankees at Minute Maid Park, and they will open their 2014 season hosting the Yankees on April 1 for Opening Day for the first time in franchise history. However, the Astros did host the Yankees for the first exhibition game in the Astrodome on April 9, 1965, and at Minute Maid Park on March 30, 2000.

Houston will also host the Yankees’ American League East division rival and owners of the best record in the AL, the Boston Red Sox, the weekend before the All-Star Break from July 11-13.

The Astros will host four teams for interleague play: Atlanta Braves (June 24-26), Washington Nationals (April 29-30), Arizona Diamondbacks (June 11-12) and the Miami Marlins (July 25-27).

Game start times will be announced in the upcoming weeks. Tickets and suite rentals are now on sale for the 2014 season.
