Porter on players working out
The team that works out together plays better together? Astros fans are about to find out.
Last year there were a handful of players that took advantage of the facilities and resources at Minute Maid Park to prepare for the 2013 season. This year, there are many more players around the ballpark this offseason.
“There are a lot of guys obviously that are not from here that made a commitment to spending their offseason here in Houston, working out with our strength guy at our facility,” Astros manager Bo Porter said on Wednesday. “They’re at the ballpark every day, again it gives them an opportunity to develop even closer bonds together and we have more players that’s going to come in. I think the number is right around 19 or 20 and that number is going to increase in the next couple of weeks because we have more guys that are going to come in that will be here until we depart to go to Spring Training.”
