The Astros unveiled plans for the team’s 2013 FanFest on January 26th at Minute Maid Park. Originally part of the Minute Maid College Classic, this year’s FanFest will once again be the final event in the team’s week long Astros CAREavan.
Fans at this year’s event will be able to listen in on round table discussions, get autographs from some of their Astros from today and yesterday (and some future stars), throw some pitches and take some swings at the stadium, among many other activities.
Admission to the event is free, but all fans attending must have a voucher that is available at www.astros.com
One of the new attractions is throwing pitches in the Astros bullpen. For $5, fans will be able to throw five pitches in the bullpen. Fans will also be able to take five swings in the batting cage under the stadium for $5 as well.
Autograph sessions will run from 12:00-3:30 and will include players from minor league prospects like last year’s No. 1 overall pick Carlos Correa and Jarred Cosart, to current Astros and former players like Art Howe and J.R. Richard. Specific players for autograph sessions and vouchers to purchase a spot in line can be found on the Astros web site as well.
