Rockets forward Patrick Patterson is the latest NBA player to be warned for flopping. Thanks to ProBasketballTalk.com for the video of his flop against the Knicks, as he anticipates the contact from New York center Tyson Chandler and falls backwards without actually being contacted.
For Patterson, this is merely a warning. The next offense will be a $5,000 fine. After that, it's a $10,000 fine for the third offense.
The other players who have been fined this season - Donald Sloan of the Cavs, Reggie Evans of the Nets, Kevin Martin of the Thunder and J.J. Barea of the Timberwolves. Evans actually has two offenses, the second of which resulted in a $5,000 fine.
